Structured Training Modules

The program will be conducted by IIT Kanpur’s C3iHub, a premier cybersecurity research and innovation center. It features two dedicated three-month training modules designed to train Army units in core cyber defence practices. These modules focus on emerging cyber threats, incident response protocols, and foundational skills necessary to secure military networks from digital intrusions.

Enhancing Operational Readiness

This partnership is expected to broaden the Army’s exposure to modern cyber defence tools and global best practices. By integrating such specialized training into the operational framework, the Army aims to build a secure digital ecosystem, improve incident response capabilities, and strengthen overall operational readiness against complex cyber-attacks.

Impact on Central Command and Beyond

The Central Command theatre, which covers several strategically sensitive areas, will be the primary beneficiary of this training initiative. The program marks an important step in the Indian Army's digital defence strategy, aligning with their shift toward integrated training models where digital skills are prioritized alongside conventional warfare techniques.

Combining Expertise for National Security

This collaboration leverages IIT Kanpur’s academic excellence and research capabilities alongside the Indian Army’s practical defense experience, aiming to create a resilient cybersecurity infrastructure that can withstand increasingly sophisticated digital threats. The initiative demonstrates a proactive approach towards cyber defence as a crucial component of national security.

This partnership not only enhances the digital defence capabilities of the Indian Army but also sets a precedent for future collaborations between academic institutions and defence forces to tackle emerging cybersecurity challenges effectively .
