A Platform for Coordination and Innovation

The DPSU Bhavan has been conceived as a centralized space where leading Defence Public Sector Undertakings—such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), and others—can collaborate more effectively. By housing these entities under one roof, the Ministry of Defence aims to streamline communication, ensure quicker decision-making, and foster synergy in research and production efforts.

With digital integration and paperless operations being a key feature of this new building, the Bhavan will help accelerate project approvals, improve transparency, and enhance workflow efficiency across all DPSUs. It also includes dedicated zones for research, policy planning, and technology exchange, encouraging cross-sectoral innovation.

Raksha Mantri’s Address and Vision

During the inauguration ceremony, Raksha Mantri emphasized the government’s unwavering focus on indigenization and capacity-building in defence manufacturing. He appreciated the role of the DPSUs in supporting the Indian Armed Forces with indigenous technologies and equipment, while also highlighting the need for innovation and global competitiveness.

He stated that the creation of the DPSU Bhavan reflects India’s transition from being a defence importer to becoming a global hub of defence production and export. With the ongoing reforms and strategic focus, India is steadily moving towards achieving the objective of Make in India, Make for the World.

Review of DPSU Performance

Following the inauguration, Raksha Mantri conducted a comprehensive review of the performance of various Defence Public Sector Undertakings. The review covered key production targets, export achievements, technology upgradation, and the progress of ongoing strategic projects.Several DPSUs have recorded strong growth figures in the last fiscal year, with notable accomplishments such as record defence exports, faster delivery timelines, and increased investment in R&D. The Defence Minister encouraged each unit to sustain this momentum and explore opportunities for collaboration with private industry and startups, ensuring a holistic ecosystem that nurtures innovation and efficiency.

Driving Self-Reliance through Modernization

The inauguration of the DPSU Bhavan aligns with the broader national agenda of building a self-reliant defence industry. With the government’s continued push towards indigenization, this initiative will act as a catalyst for modernization and digital transformation across public-sector manufacturing facilities.

The Bhavan’s green design also reflects the Ministry’s growing commitment to sustainability. From energy-efficient systems to eco-friendly operations, the facility embodies the vision of a modern India that values both technological prowess and environmental responsibility.

The Road Ahead

The DPSU Bhavan is more than just an administrative building—it is a statement of intent. It represents India’s confidence in its defence capabilities, the resurgence of its industrial strength, and its readiness to lead on the global stage.

As the Raksha Mantri continues to steer reforms that prioritize indigenous development, collaboration, and transparency, the new DPSU Bhavan will serve as a beacon of progress for the nation’s defence sector—symbolizing innovation, unity, and national pride.
